For distinguishing stainless steel, silver, and white gold
Application:
The test acid is added to the object to be tested with a spatula and left to work for about 1 minute.
Then wipe the drop with a paper towel.
For stainless steel, the application site is brightened.
For silver, the application site turns dark.
For palladium white gold, no change is visible.
For white gold 333/592, the application site turns dark.
