Resin
Synthetic resin is an umbrella term for UV-curing liquid plastics. SLA Resin is a material that starts to harden on contact with light. This feature is used by SLA and DLP printers. The liquid resin is irradiated at the desired locations by a light source, whereby the resin is measured exactly cured. With SLA and DLP 3D printers, finer and more accurate structures can be created than with comparable FDM devices. Resins are optimized by 3D printer manufacturers especially for their own 3D printers. Accordingly, the devices usually material profiles for the company's own Resine deposited. SLA Resin is always used when the component is subject to high demands with regard to surface quality and level of detail. SLA means sterolithography and is the oldest and most sophisticated 3D printing process.
